Sandhya Ethiraj

Having moved to a new country as an international student, I experienced firsthand the challenges of balancing academics while seeking opportunities for growth. I quickly realised that many students face similar struggles accessing essential resources, finding employment, and making their voices heard. These experiences motivated me to become a voice for students, advocating for their needs and ensuring they are recognized through the right channels.

Along my journey, I have seen how mentorship, networking, and access to opportunities can open doors that might otherwise remain closed, giving students visibility, confidence, and a path to success. Inspired by my favorite quote, “If you want to make a change, you have to become one,” I am running for Director of Operations to actively contribute to meaningful change for the student community.

In this role, I will focus on strengthening student initiatives, streamlining processes, and creating platforms that empower every student to thrive. By connecting peers with resources, fostering supportive networks, and promoting personal and professional growth, I aim to build an environment where students are supported, equipped, and prepared to succeed both on and off campus.
