Anne Jane Adu-Bobie

My name is Anne Jane Adu-Bobie, and I am a student in the Culinary Management program. I am of Ghanaian descent and moved to Canada a few years ago to pursue my education. I chose to become a chef because of my strong passion for addressing food insecurity and youth empowerment.
I currently volunteer with SNAP at the Chef School, where I work with chefs to prepare meals for students in need. This experience has allowed me to see firsthand the challenges many students face and has strengthened my commitment to advocating for their needs.
Additionally, I serve as Vice President of Governance at the Canadian Association of Urban Finance Professionals (CAUFP), a non-profit organization. In this role, I helped ensure the board complied with organizational by-laws and contributed to policies that supported the needs of the community we serve.
I am ready to bring my experience, advocacy, and leadership to effectively support and represent the George Brown student community by running to become a student representative on the board because I believe I can effectively express students’ concerns while helping ensure accountability to the commitments made to them.
