Hirani, Zainil
I’m Zainil Hirani, as a business student and an Internal Support Staff at the Student Association, I see a scope for improvement and an insight into the daily challenges George Brown students face. I am running for the office of Director of Operations because I believe there is vast potential to make real improvements to student life through SA initiatives. As an international student myself, I personally understand the struggles that many students encounter, from navigating immigration and housing issues to preparing for the competitive job market. Aside from immigration, these issues affect both international and domestic students, taking a toll on their mental health.
I am dedicated and focused on creating meaningful change that eases these burdens, making SA a stronger support for students. My vision is to implement programs and partnerships that address pressing student needs. For example, by connecting students with immigration lawyers or consultants, we can provide guidance and relief for those navigating complex visa processes. Additionally, establishing partnerships with real estate and job placement agencies would improve access to housing and career resources, giving all George Brown students a better start. These are just some of the many initiatives that I plan to implement.
My goal is simple, to make life easier for students by tackling the barriers they face, empowering them to focus on their education and growth. I believe the Student Association has the potential and power to shoulder these burdens, developing an environment where every student feels supported and is set up for success.
