I believe that the Student Association must be a stronger, more accountable, and a more effective voice for students. Our association should not only represent us, but it should also actively engage, inform, and advocate for the needs of every student. I know firsthand that student success depends on access to resources, clear communication, and a sense of belonging. However, too often students feel disconnected from the very organization meant to serve them. That needs to change. Beyond my academic pursuits, I have dedicated my time to advocacy and leadership roles. As a Peer Leader, I’ve worked directly with students to ensure they feel supported in their academic journey. My experience working with City Hall and as a translator/interpreter for refugees has also helped me have a better understanding of governance and accountability. As an international student, I recognize there are diverse needs and voices in a multicultural student body. I want to represent as many of those voices as I can with this position. This role works best when the Director is able to listen and collaborate. I’m looking forward to working together with you to bring you the best possible opportunities at George Brown.
